‘‘Leigheas” meaning ”healing” and ”Dé Danann” of Danú, the mother Goddess.
The ”Tuatha Dé Danann” are said to have landed in a cloud of mist in the North-West of Éire. When they arrived in Éire they brought with them the gifts of music, crafts, healing and astronomy.
Aoife’s body of work is rooted in the ancient mythology of Ireland & Scotland, from the Dé Danann to the Fianna - her work is cultural & ancestral recovery rooted in the landscape and in dùthchas - a return to belonging with the land.
Aoife Lowden is a guide and facilitator of courses, ceremonies & gatherings which aim to support in building relationship rooted in land-based ancestral wisdom.
Aoife works as a voice for the more-than-human world. Through story, song & healing ceremony she weaves together ancestral wisdom and lived-mythology to bring forth an embodied experience of ancient druidic spirituality in the present moment today.
Weaving the old with the new - Aoife creates spaces rooted in wild & ancient wisdom, whilst allowing the space for our emerging culture to come through & evolve.
Aoife founded Leigheas Dé Danann where she weaves offerings inspired by the ancient lands of Éire and Alba, often in collaboration with her community.

Fire ceremony: Aoife offers seasonal Fire ceremonies around the wheel of year, e.g Imbolg, Samhain, Bealtaine. She works with the native plants and trees of Éiriú to create alchemical Fires which support us in connecting to and being supported by the land. Her work is focused on inidividual, collective and land healing through the fire. She is also available as a sacred fire keeper for private bookings for ceremonies, festivals & events.
Sacred Sites: Aoife guides people through the ancient landscape of sacred sites in Ireland. She guides people through unique ”turas naofa”, a sacred journey, through the landscape. She is available for individual and group bookings, weaving ceremony, foraging, folklore, music & tradition into her tours. Her lived relationship with these sites for many years is the foundation of which she guides from.
Plants & Herbs: Aoife shares her passion for Plants and creates empowering spaces for people to learn from the Plants in sacred ceremony. Her particular emphasis is on direct relationship and working with the land as a teacher. She offers regular plant journeys, events and retreats both online in person – her herbal offerings can be found in the shop online.
Ancestral consultancy: Aoife provides a select amount of ancestral consultancy 1:1 and group work, whereby she offers guidance & facilitation for those of the diaspora to re-connect with their ancestral origin through plant/tree work, Gaelic language, song, prayer & ceremony.
